On the morning of Monday, April 22nd, 2024, the Society of Jesus in Thailand was filled with joy as three men completed their two-year novitiate in the Society of Jesus and pronounced their First Vows at Seven Fountains in Chiang Mai: Sch. Andrew Suriya Dipour, SJ, Sch. Ignatius of Loyola Sattha Charoensin, SJ, and Sch. Ignatius of Loyola Surachai Senghoe, SJ.
After spending two years at the Maria Della Strada Novitiate in Taunggyi, Myanmar, they professed their First Vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. The Vow Day Mass was held at Holy Spirit Church, Seven Fountains, Chiang Mai, and many people came to join in celebrating their historical moment, including our members, their families, friends, and priests from other congregations. We, Jesuits, are grateful to have more members and have more hope that Jesuit Vocations can grow well in Thailand.
